Effective March 24, the Monmouth County Division of Social Services will suspend Tuesday evening hours in the Ocean Township office. The office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Monmouth County Division of Social Services is a county government agency located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Monmouth County has cities, towns and even a village! Part of the county is quite rural and the county adjoins the Atlantic Ocean. Our governing body is the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners.  Monmouth County Division of Social Services assists Monmouth County residents in need of social services, financial assistance and medical assistance. The Division is part of the Monmouth County Department of Human Services.

New Jersey residents experiencing homelessness may call 732-431-6000 ext. 4613 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those experiencing homelessness after business hours may call 2-1-1. NJ 2-1-1 serves as New Jersey's Homeless Hotline to connect residents in need of shelter.

NJ 2-1-1 will work in partnership with county agencies to ensure residents have a safe place to stay and get connected to resources. NJ 2-1-1 operators will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and accessible in different languages for non-English speakers. Information provided by the callers will be kept confidential, except for information that must be shared with providers involved in providing shelter or shelter-related services.
