Elder law attorney to speak at JLM care center
Learn the importance of advance directives
FREEHOLD, NJ – The public is invited to attend a presentation on making an advance directive, also called a living will, scheduled for 10:45 a.m. on April 25 at the John L. Montgomery Care Center. The presentation will be given by elder law attorney John Callinan of Wall Township.
The advance directive is generally made up of two parts: first, the individual’s election of the kind of medical interventions they either do, or do not, want at the end of life; and second, the appointment of a “Health Care Proxy” (also called a medical power of attorney) to make health care decisions on the individual’s behalf should they become unable to make those decisions for themselves.
The presentation, which will take about an hour, is open to members of the health care community and the general public. To register for the program, please call the John L. Montgomery Care Center reception desk at 732-431-7420 and leave your name and contact information with the receptionist.
The John L. Montgomery Care Center is located at 115 Dutch Lane Rd. in Freehold.
