Freeholder honored by agriculture board

Board cites ‘distinguished service’

 

FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Freeholder Lillian G. Burry was honored recently with a Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award presented by the Monmouth County Board of Agriculture.

 

Freeholder Lillian G. BurryBurry of Colts Neck is the owner of Colts Neck Realty who has served as a Monmouth County freeholder since 2006. Since then, she has served as liaison to the County Agriculture Development Board. She currently serves on the Advisory Committee of the Monmouth County Conservation Foundation Board of Trustees.

 

“I am extremely honored to be recognized by the agricultural community for my service,” Burry said. “My entire life has been dedicated to public service, and as part of that service I have worked to advocate for the conservation of farmland and open space.”

 

The annual County Board of Agriculture dinner took place in March. Upon bestowing the Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award, the board described Burry as “a true proponent of farmland preservation” and “friend to agriculture here in Monmouth County.”

 

“I believe our land is the most valuable asset we have in Monmouth County and I promise to continue my efforts on behalf of land preservation and agriculture,” added Burry.
