Freeholders set 2010 public meeting schedule
Meetings for community locations and county seat included
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has set its 2010 meeting schedule with regular evening meetings to be in Colts Neck, Holmdel, Keyport, Matawan, Sea Bright, Spring Lake and Upper Freehold.
“One of the best things the Board did years ago was to take the Board of Chosen Freeholders’ meetings on the road so that county government is more accessible to the people it serves,” Freeholder Director Lillian G. Burry said. “It encourages participation by many more residents.”
The Board of Chosen Freeholders will meet on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Workshop meetings will continue to be held at 2 p.m., but all regular meetings will be held at 7 p.m. Additionally, evening meetings on the fourth Thursdays from March through September will be rotated throughout the county as was done in the past. All other meetings will be held in the Hall of Records.
According to James Gray, clerk to the freeholder board, the meeting rotation is designed to cover all regions of the county and provide opportunities for residents to attend meetings closer to home or work.
