ATTENTION! Monmouth County Property Owners


In March 2013, Governor Chris Christie signed into law Chapter 15 P.L 2013 known as the Assessment Demonstration Program to begin in tax year 2014. The Monmouth County Board of Taxation and the Monmouth County Municipal Assessors have decided to be the first in the State to take on this cost-saving project.

Since then, many changes have been put in place; changes will continue during the five year rollout of the program that concludes in 2018.

Property Assessment Date Changes

Nov. 15, 2015 - ASSESSMENT POSTCARD notices for the 2016 Tax Year will now be mailed on or about November 15, 2015. This card will include your 2016 property assessment information. These postcards were previously available each February.

Jan. 15, 2016 – ASSESSMENT APPEAL APPLICATION FILING DEADLINE for the appeal of property assessments to the Monmouth County Board of Taxation is now January 15. This previous deadline was April 1. For specific information about your property, contact your local tax assessor in your Monmouth County municipality
